This year the Extraordinary Arts one hour Library Program will have an ocean theme! Sheri starts the program with a short performance showcasing a few basic tricks that will be reviewed during the program. She will then go on to speak about the history of hula hoops, the different types of hula hoops (plus bonus mini game) and her personal story of becoming a hoop dancer. After some brief hula hooping instructions and demonstration, the group gets to try hula hooping themselves, while Sheri walks around to give one on one instruction, trouble shooting, and help with new tricks. That’s when the fun really begins! We will play 2-4 different interactive games that focus on team building, problem solving and social interaction. With younger groups we will have a seated reading from one of our many books about hula hoops and circus. To finish the program, we dim the lights and Sheri will treat the students with a surprise Light Up hula hoop performance!
